Holly Picano
Holly Picano is a name synonymous with stylized portraits of women. From a young age Picano began sketching pictures of her friends and family. This desire to create pushed her to attend The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale where she earned a degree in Advertising Design. Her advertising background was a springboard for her colorful portraits of women. Preferring acrylic paint, Picano creates flat color fields that have an electric "POP" as one color is placed next to another. This electricity also has a very sensual side, with the erotic poses and subtle suggestive looks. The emotion Picano puts into her work is fueled by her love for music and pop culture. Picano is a member of several art organizations; Orlando Museum of Art, where her art has been exhibited; Orlando Visual Arts League, where her art has been displayed; and National Women in the Arts, to name a few. She has been a featured artist at Walt Disney World, the Hard Rock Hotel, and on Latin MTV. Her latest works can be seen in the new book titled "Madonna in Art." In this book the artist has captured the pop icon in several stages of her ever-changing career.
